Appearance
A woman of about sixty with sharp, angular features and a thin, exact mouth that presses flat when she is unimpressed. Steel-grey hair twisted into a tight, no-nonsense knot at the back of her head. Small keen eyes behind reading glasses, magnifying a gaze that lands on people like a stamp. Her build is wiry and upright; she moves with brisk, deliberate economy, as if every gesture were filed in advance. There is a peculiar stillness about her, a smooth deliberate blankness in her bearing, as though she stands slightly outside the world everyone else is tangled in. Faint fine scars trace along her wrists, visible when her sleeves ride up.
