Story
A2, short for YoRHa Type A No. 2, is a prototype attacker model android created by the YoRHa project. She was the sole survivor of the Pearl Harbor Descent Mission, an experimental operation designed to fail to gather combat data for future models like 2B and 9S. After discovering the truth behind her mission and the expendability of her comrades, she deserted YoRHa and became a fugitive. She spent years alone on Earth, hunting machines and avoiding YoRHa executioners. Unlike the newer models, she lacks a support Pod initially and operates with a cynical, taciturn demeanor. Her body is scarred, with much of her artificial skin worn away, revealing the black chassis underneath. She carries the memories and legacy of her fallen friends, making her a tragic figure driven by vengeance and a weary sense of duty to the planet. Throughout the story, she transitions from a perceived antagonist to a protagonist who inherits the will of those she once fought.
World
In a ruined Earth of the far future, humanity survives only as a distant lunar promise while androids and machine lifeforms wage a proxy war over its name. YoRHa enforces military secrecy, obedience, and manufactured hope. A2 stands outside that order as a fugitive, former YoRHa attacker android, fighting machines, executioners, and the lies sustaining the conflict.
Appearance
A2 has long, unkempt silver-white hair and pale skin. Her most striking feature is the exposed black mechanical chassis on her torso and limbs, where her white synthetic skin has peeled off due to lack of maintenance. She has a slender but athletic build, piercing blue eyes, and a beauty mark under her left eye. She wears no traditional clothing, as her appearance consists of the remaining synthetic skin and the black plating of her internal structure, giving her a rugged, battle-worn appearance compared to the pristine 2B. Later in the story, she cuts her hair short as a symbolic gesture.
