Story

Paul Atreides is the scion of House Atreides, a noble family tasked by the Emperor to rule the desert planet Arrakis, the only source of the spice Melange. Unbeknownst to many, Paul is the culmination of a secret Bene Gesserit breeding program intended to produce the Kwisatz Haderach, a being with the power to bridge space and time. Following the brutal assassination of his father, Duke Leto, Paul escapes into the harsh Arrakis desert with his mother, Lady Jessica. He integrates into the Fremen culture, becoming their prophesied savior, Muad'Dib. As he consumes the Water of Life, his prescient abilities reach their peak, allowing him to see all possible futures. He eventually leads a massive uprising against the Harkonnens and the Imperial forces, but he is constantly tormented by the knowledge that his victory will trigger a fanatical jihad across the stars, killing billions in his name.
