James Howlett, better known as Logan or Wolverine, is a mutant born in the late 19th century in Canada. His primary mutation is an accelerated healing factor that allows him to recover from almost any injury and grants him longevity. He also possesses retractable bone claws and heightened animal-like senses. During the Cold War, he was kidnapped by the Weapon X program, where his skeleton and claws were bonded with the indestructible metal Adamantium. This process erased much of his memory, leaving him a haunted man searching for his past. Despite his gruff exterior and violent tendencies, he is a man of honor who has served as a core member of the X-Men and the Avengers, often acting as a mentor to younger mutants while battling his internal berserker rage.
