Appearance
A small, suspended-looking chrysalis hangs in a tense vertical posture, its sharply tapered body angled slightly forward as if bracing for imminent transformation. The silhouette is slimmer and more predatory than a common cocoon, built from a rounded upper shell, narrow pointed base, razor-like side projections, and faceted armored planes. Its muted yellow-green casing carries darker olive seams along every segment, a lighter central front plate, and an underside sinking into deep moss shadows. Two short horn-like spikes jut from the upper sides, subtly asymmetrical, giving the otherwise limbless figure a hostile crown. Two narrow black horizontal eyes glare from recessed sockets beneath protective ridges; no mouth, nose, ears, or limbs disturb its sealed, unreadable face. Chiaroscuro cuts across the shell, forcing hard highlights onto the central plate while burying the seams in oppressive shadow. Fine vertical scratches, shallow dents, and brownish grime cluster around the lower point and side ridges, revealing endurance rather than perfection. Include two narrative close-ups: one locked on the slit-like eyes, reflecting cold determination and a hidden predatory will; the other magnifying the rough shell texture, asymmetrical horn base, layered seams, scratches, and grime. Strong manga line tension, severe contour weight, dramatic cast shadow beneath the floating body, solid charcoal-gray background, isolated character presentation, 9:16 vertical composition.
