Dashtoon (Dashverse) still runs a reader homepage at dashtoon.com, markets Dashtoon Studio as an AI-assisted comic workshop, and keeps a public generator page for Story to Comic, Storyboard to Comic, and Live Mode. Frameo is a separate video / short-drama tool in the same family. Do not treat a video app as a manga migration.
Story Mode — as they document it — reads a story, maps characters onto a library of consistent faces, writes a panel-by-panel screenplay, then draws. That is the same job Tab Story is built for. Midjourney is not in this room.

Where Dashtoon is meaningfully better
- A real publishing pipe: create on Studio, read on the Dashtoon app. If you want an audience already in their feed, that is a genuine advantage.
- A large, consistent character library and Story Mode that auto-casts from prose — they have been public about this since the 2024 Story Mode release.
- Studio-shaped craft: Live Mode, storyboard-to-comic, inpaint, magic erase, bubbles, mixed styles.
- They still list a free entry plus paid plans for heavy users. Check their site the day you decide; we will not screenshot a price.
Where Tab Story is the rational pick
- A chapter is a living object. Make Studio is for people who will cut two balloons and rerun one page.
- Cast is not only their library. You can lock a design, steal a public library look, or upload the sketch you already love.
- The book is yours to export. If the comic only lives in someone else’s reader, leaving the platform is harder.
- Side rooms exist: camera-angle turns, street-view plates, line art, shorts. Dashtoon is a studio plus a storefront. We are a book plus a workbench.
Do not confuse Frameo with comics
