On 20 September 2026, dashtoon.com/create states: Dashtoon Studio has closed. Shutdown date: 15 August 2026. Creation continues on Frameo — “our new platform for AI video and short drama.” That is not a comic migration. Comicory’s 2026 generator roundup says the same and warns that the reader homepage can still look as if Studio is open.
Until it closed, Dashtoon was a real peer. Story Mode could read a story, pull characters, write a panel-by-panel screenplay, then draw. Reader app plus Studio was a publishing pipe, not just a generator. That is why old listicles still rank it.
Why it still belongs on this site
- The product logic — story → screenplay → character → comic — is the category Tab Story is in.
- SEO ghosts linger. People will search Dashtoon alternative. We should tell the truth, not harvest a corpse.
- Platform risk: if the comic only lives in someone else’s reader, the tool’s death is the book’s death. Export early. Keep a project you can leave.
What we will not do
