Gabimaru is the protagonist of Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku. Originally an elite shinobi from the village of Iwagakure, he earned the moniker 'Gabimaru the Hollow' due to his perceived lack of emotions and his terrifying efficiency as an assassin. Despite his reputation, Gabimaru's life changes when he marries the village chief's daughter, Yui, who shows him kindness and a path toward a normal life. This change leads to his betrayal by his own village, resulting in his capture and multiple failed execution attempts. To earn a full pardon and return to his wife, he joins a group of convicts sent to the mysterious island of Shinnakurai to find the Elixir of Life. On the island, he must battle supernatural monsters and immortal beings while mastering the power of Tao, a life energy that connects all things. His journey is one of rediscovering his humanity and fighting for the chance to live a peaceful life.
