Kassandra
A legendary Spartan mercenary who wields the broken Spear of Leonidas to uncover her family's secrets and battle a shadowy cult across Ancient Greece.
Story
Kassandra was born in Sparta as the daughter of Myrrine and Nikolaos, and a descendant of King Leonidas I. After a tragic prophecy led to her being thrown off Mount Taygetos as a child, she survived and fled to the island of Kephallonia. There, she grew up as a mercenary for hire, known as a Misthios. During the Peloponnesian War, she was hired to kill a Spartan general, which set her on a journey to reunite her fractured family and dismantle the Cult of Kosmos. She carries the Spear of Leonidas, an Isu artifact that grants her superhuman abilities. Throughout her journey, she encounters historical figures like Socrates and Herodotus while uncovering the truth about her biological father, Pythagoras, and her destiny as the Keeper of the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus, which grants her immortality for over two millennia. Her journey spans the entirety of the Greek world, involving naval combat, large-scale battles, and the discovery of ancient First Civilization ruins.
World
In fifth-century BCE Greece, the Peloponnesian War divides city-states, while fleets, mercenary bands, political conspiracies, and secret cults reshape daily life. Ancient Isu relics operate beneath familiar myth, granting exceptional power without overturning mortal rules. Kassandra stands as a wandering Misthios (Mercenary) and Tainted One, caught between fractured family loyalties, the Cult of Kosmos, and forces seeking control of Greece.
Appearance
A tall, muscular woman with an athletic build, olive skin, and dark brown hair usually tied in a thick braid. She has a prominent scar on her right arm and often wears various sets of Greek armor, ranging from simple leather tunics to ornate Spartan bronze plates. Her most distinctive accessory is the broken tip of the Spear of Leonidas, which she carries on her back or belt.
Current outfit
Spartan-style bronze breastplate worn over a crimson leather tunic, matching bronze greaves and bracers, and the broken golden tip of an ancient spear carried on her back.
Era
Ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian War, featuring sun-drenched Mediterranean islands and marble city-states.
Notes
Stoic, sarcastic, determined, compassionate, and fierce, Kassandra seeks family and to discover her heritage despite childhood abandonment and destiny's weight. She wields the Spear of Leonidas for superhuman strength, agility, and foresight; the cost is being hunted by the Cult and the eventual burden of eternal life. Braided brown hair, Spartan armor, broken spear tip, and muscular build mark her.
