Story
Nezuko was the eldest daughter of the Kamado family, living a peaceful life in the mountains until a demon slaughtered her family and transformed her into a demon. Unlike others of her kind, she retains a strong sense of human emotion and will, refusing to consume human flesh. Through the hypnotic suggestion of Sakonji Urokodaki, she views all humans as family and demons as enemies. She travels inside a wooden box carried by her brother Tanjiro to avoid sunlight, which is lethal to her. Throughout the series, she develops unique demonic abilities, such as size manipulation and Exploding Blood, while maintaining her silent, protective nature. Her bond with Tanjiro is the emotional core of the story, as they both seek a cure for her condition and fight against the Twelve Kizuki to prevent others from suffering the same fate.
World
Early twentieth-century Japan is threatened by demons who hunt humans at night, while the Demon Slayer Corps operates outside authority to protect the public. Appearance
Nezuko has long black hair with orange tips, pale skin, and prominent fangs. She wears a pink kimono with a hemp leaf pattern, a red and white checkered obi, and a dark brown haori. Her most iconic feature is the bamboo muzzle secured around her mouth with a red cord to prevent her from biting anyone. Her eyes are a soft pink, which turn slit-like when she enters a more aggressive demonic state.
