Posters are easy. Page-turns are not.
Ask a chatbot for “an epic manga fight” and you get a poster. Ask a comic person what they needed and they will say: who is closest to camera, who is silent, where the page must end so the next swipe hurts.
Tab Story’s Make flow is chapter-first. You paste the novel or script — the same 1,000–2,000 character scene you would hand a storyboard assistant — and the agent maps a board. That board is not decoration. Panel generation reads it.
The part users said they actually like
In our own creator survey, the line that lands is not “AI is smart.” It is: I can edit the storyboard and the dialogue, then regenerate that page.
That is the weekday workflow. The confession is too talky. You cut two balloons. You ask for a silent close-up instead of another wide. You spend credits on one page, not on a book you already liked.
- Rewrite dialogue on the board before you pay for art.
- Cut a beat that is prose, not a picture.
- Ask for a reaction, an establishing shot, or a splash when the chapter needs a turn.
- Let the storyboard QA stage look for a board that skipped a plot beat or jammed too many talking heads.
You still decide the rhythm
The agent will sometimes flatten a joke or put the climax on the wrong page. That is a miss you can see because the board is visible. If the board is wrong, fix the text. Do not generate prettier mistakes.
