Sketch Edit is the public version of Tab Story’s studio sketch editor. Draw panel borders, pin numbered markers, and describe each beat in the same seven-part format: layout, camera, characters, bubbles, narration, SFX, and style.
The difference from Make’s Sketch edit: @mentions only use characters you created, not the public Tab Story library or another comic’s cast. Click a portrait or type @ to insert them into the shot.
How it works
- Pick a page ratio. Draw layout guides with the brush, or skip drawing and work from markers only.
- Switch to Text and click the canvas to drop numbered markers. Fill the seven-part prompt, or insert camera shots and snippets.
- Search characters you created and insert @Name. Mentioned characters send their portraits as identity references.
- Generate. Signed-in accounts get 2 free runs per day; extra runs cost 20 credits.

Tips
- Keep the sketch as composition, not illustration. The model follows panel sizes and reading order from the first reference image.
- @ the characters who actually appear. Too many unused mentions dilute identity.
- Put dialogue, SFX, and camera notes in the marker — they become the panel prompt.
