How it works

  1. Upload a PNG or JPG of a comic panel. Panels with little or no existing text work best.
  2. Add one or more balloons. Pick the type (speech, thought, shout, whisper, narration, or SFX), paste the exact line, and optionally say who the tail should point to and where the balloon should sit.
  3. Optional style notes cover balloon look — round manga ovals, rectangular webtoon captions, western bursts.

Tips for readable lettering

  • Keep each line short. Phone-size type needs padding inside the balloon.
  • Name the speaker (“tail to the girl on the left”) so the balloon does not float on a face.
  • Do not ask the model to rewrite or translate unless that is the text you typed.
  • If the source already has balloons, this tool replaces them with your list instead of stacking a second layer.

Honest limits

Image models still misspell or restyle letters. If a run garbles a line, regenerate with fewer balloons or shorter text. Vector overlay lettering is not in this version.

Silent AI panels are common. Redrawing just to add a balloon used to mean another full generate. This page is the lettering pass.

Will the characters stay the same?

The model is instructed to keep faces, outfits, background, and composition, and to change lettering only. Strong style notes can still drift the art.

Can I add more than one balloon?

Yes. Add up to 8 balloons per run. Each needs its own text. Point the tail at a speaker when two people share the panel.

Does it work with existing balloons on the image?

Yes. List the new lines and the tool tries to replace old balloons instead of stacking duplicates. Clean, text-free panels are still more reliable.
